Cringila Public Preschool

We are very excited to share that the construction for our new public preschool has started. Cringila Public Preschool will be located within the school grounds and will help to strengthen children’s learning journey across our school community. We anticipate the preschool will be open in Term 2, 2026.

Why choose our public preschool?

Our public preschool Cringila Public Preschool will soon welcome children into a supportive, play-based learning environment within our whole school community. Our preschool will be a valued part of our school and give children the best start in learning.

At our preschool, children will explore, ask questions and learn through play. Our staff support children to have a positive transition into kindergarten. We look forward to welcoming you and your child to our preschool when it opens. Contact us to talk to our friendly staff, see our facilities and learn about what our preschool can offer your child.

Preschool days and hours

Our preschool will operate the same days and hours as our whole school. Our hours are 9:00am to 3:00pm during school term. The preschool will not be open during school holidays. We will have 2 preschool classes, with each class catering for up to 20 children per day. To learn more about our preschool hours and classes, please contact us.

Fee-free Preschool

Our public preschool will be free to attend. Start Strong funding is not used to subsidise fees at public preschools and may still be accessed by families at other early childhood education and care services.

Meals

Children bring their own meals and snacks to preschool. For more information, please contact us.

Expression on Interest

We have reached an exciting milestone for our school, with families now invited to submit an expression of interest (EOI) to enrol in our new public preschool. Families can express interest in enrolling their child by submitting a completed expression of interest to enrol in a NSW public preschool form to our school office.

Whilst we are excited to begin collecting EOIs, enrolment offers can only be made when our preschool is granted service approval. This will not be before the beginning of 2026. Service approval is the ‘green light’ from the NSW ECEC Regulatory Authority that enables us to operate. It is a legislated requirement that ensures children attending our public preschool receive quality early education and care in a safe, engaging environment.

We will make enrolment offers in line with the enrolment priority outlined in the public preschool enrolment procedure. If more expressions of interest are received than available places, our school principal will form a placement panel to assess these.

If your child is offered a preschool place, you will be asked to complete an application to enrol in a public preschool and provide all required documentation. Immunisation is required for enrolment into a public preschool.

Translated versions of the preschool enrolment application and our Interpreter Service are also available.

Enrolment in a public preschool

Public preschools enrol children for one year only, the year before they start school. Children can enrol from the beginning of the school year if they turn 4 years of age before 31 July that year.

Unlike NSW public schools, there are no enrolment boundaries for public preschools. Children do not need to live in our school’s local enrolment intake area to apply.

Enrolment in a preschool class does not guarantee a place in kindergarten at our school. School Finder can help families find their local public school. For more information, please contact our school office or visit Enrolment in a public preschool page.
